Marvellous landscape with millions of flowers in spring, beautiful meadows and perfect idyll in summer, the region in and around East-Styria has priceless value. Romantic villages, sunny fruit and wine yards as well as the smell of herbs make you feel like you are in the Garden of Eden.
No matter if you love local and home-made products such as apples, pears, pumpkin seed oil, cheese or fresh herbs; or if you rather enjoy cultural highlights, castles, exhibitions and museums, you can find everything you desire in the East-Styria.
Also called Styria's "garden". Experience a walk through wild herbs or the Alpine flowers, cycle along the varied trails or spend your holiday on a farm. Another highlight of the countryside is the Teichalm, Europe's largest continuously farmed mountain pasture.
Eastern Styria is the region in which the garden provides us with what is good for us: fine drops from the orchards and vineyards, for example. The wide range of excursions is also worth mentioning: e.g. those in Joglland or the R 11 - the Raab Valley cycle trail begins here and leads to Hungary – going straight through the Styrian Spa Country. While we are on the subject: Eastern Styria also has thermal spas. Two - in Bad Waltersdorf.
In winter, the garden of Austria showcases its magical baked apples, snow-shoe hikes and numerous Advent markets and Christmas exhibitions. However, small but perfect ski resorts and cross-country skiing trails are also part of the winter magic.
